MATA North End Trolley Stop
Background
The goal and challenge of this site-adaptation project was to create a distinct destination identity at downtown Memphis’ North End Terminal gateway while blending the new station with other elements of the city’s historic Main Street. Today, the station serves as a terminal for both buses and trolleys with a crosswalk and ramped platform for increased accessibility. As a major streetscape element, the trolley stop contributes to Memphis’ sense of place—past, present and future.
